ARDS Coaching by John Norrington

An ARDS training session with John could be part of a dedicated ARDS test/training day at Silverstone.

To compete as a racing driver in the UK you must first take an ARDS (Association of Racing Drivers Schools) test to gain the competition licence required.

There are ARDS member schools at race circuits across the UK. Most circuits will organise ARDS courses or sessions for training. John Norrington is hugely experienced in ARDS instruction and regularly works at the Silverstone circuit in Northampton. John also travels to most other circuits across the UK.

John’s relaxed and considered approach, as well as his 40 plus racing and 10 plus years teaching experience, is the perfect environment to help aspiring drivers through the ARDS test. John will provide pre-assessment and training in preparation for the ARDS test. This includes braking technique, the correct driving position, gear changing, correct use of engine power, and optimisation of steering. Racing lines will be explained and you will be coached in circuit safety and awareness. Race procedure will be explained including lights and flag signals, their importance and meaning.

An ARDS training session with John could be part of a dedicated ARDS test/training day at Silverstone or training can be given privately on another occasion in preparation for an ARDS test.

Please contact John Norrington for more information and to make arrangements to meet at Silverstone.
